Responsibilities:  Exciting opportunity for an Electrical Construction Project Manager.  Individual will preferably have both small and large company background with industrial facility experience including Food Processing.    The role is responsible for both the Northern and Southern Georgia offices but will be stationed in Northern Georgia. Initially, focus will be on approaching new facilities and organizations promoting expertise both in Electrical Services and Controls. Successful candidate will have strong ties to the food manufacturing community in the greater Atlanta area and enjoy technical sales and customer relations as part of his/her daily responsibilities.  Other specific responsibilities include:
  • Participate in operations leadership team and be engaged with multiple, cross-functional projects that will have significant financial and operational impact
  • Drive growth and profitability through effective project execution
  • Evaluate and continually improve the systems and processes being used by the department to successfully meet customer requirements and profitability goals
  • Develop the division to achieve excellence through continuous improvement; support lesson learned activity and implement identified initiatives
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a group of 5-20 total reports (thru the PMs): responsible for work assignments, hiring, promotions and performance appraisals
  • Develop appropriate bids or estimates to ensure winning long term partnerships
  • Review the overall contractual requirements for all projects and specific process design methodology for individual projects as required
  • Ensure schedule requirements are met for all projects; adjust priorities and milestones based upon changing customer needs, resource availability, and job requirements
  • Interact with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during and after project completion
  • Coordinate with accounting to invoice per project terms and oversee / negotiate appropriate change orders
  • Support and lead business development sales activities and client interface

Requirements:  Minimum of 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering in an industrial setting.  Specific requirements include
  • Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take offs, change orders, and contracts.
  • Project Management experience in electrical services and construction
  • Highly organized and skillful at working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to lead a team of professional engineers
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in Electrical Services and Controls
  • Understand engineering in electric power
  • Substation, transmission, and distribution project experience
  • Field experience coordinating with construction management
  • Highly proficient in reading and interpreting all design, development and construction documents, specifications, and bids, and recommending necessary changes or additions
  • Previous consulting/selling experience is a plus
  • Food industry experience a plus
  • Must be flexible to travel regionally
